Matjaz Pograjc (1967), theatre director. Pograjc, currently
engaged at the Slovensko Mladinsko Theatre in Ljubljana, attracted
the attention of critics and theatregoers in 1990, when he founded the notorious
Betontanc dance company. In the following years, he established
himself as one of the most prolific and influential Slovene theatre directors,
gaining public and critical acclaim - as well as numerous awards - for his
work.
The fruitful cooperation between Pograjc and Silence began in 2000, when Pograjc
attended the band's first acoustic performance in Cankarjev dom. A few months
later, they joined forces for the first time on Midnight Meat Flight
(2000), Betontanc's 8th performance. Since then, Silence scored ten plays
directed by Pograjc: Peter Pan (2001), Maison des rendez-vous
(2003), Wrestling Dostoievsky (2004), Lulubaj (2004), Winnie
The Pooh (2004), Peter Rabbit (2005), Show Your Face!
(2006), Love Unto Death (2007), Dance Or Die (2007), and
Lucky & Zorba (2008).
