The Rozmarinke (The 'Rosemaries') string quartet. There is
undeniable chemistry between Silence's electronic soundscapes and Rozmarinke's
lyrical strings. The prolific collaboration between the two ensembles commenced
in 1999, when the two groups joined forces for a nation-wide TV broadcast
of a Silence performance. Since that occasion, the collaboration
has never stopped. The record of their joint achievements is therefore quite
extensive; second place at the Slovenian selection for the 2004 Eurovision
Song Contest (with Cliché, a humorous instrumental written
by Silence and performed by Rozmarinke), two full-length
concerts recorded and broadcast live on Slovenian national TV (Pomp
and Sobotna noc), two unplugged concerts broadcast live on Slovenian
national radio/TV and performed in front of a sold-out auditorium in Cankarjev
dom (Izstekani & Vain Tribute Night), numerous live
performances and two studio records (Maison des rendez-vous and Vain,
A Tribute To A Ghost). The Rozmarinke quartet is: Tina
Krajnik (first violin), Monika Debelic (second violin),
Katja Krajnik (viola) and Petra Gacnik (cello).
Occasionally, Jelena Zdrale (second violin), Natalija Cabrunic
(first violin), Mirela Rihter (cello) and Tamara Tasev (viola)
replaced certain members of the original quartet.
