In Ella, Primoz Ekart's play based on Herbert
Achternbusch's homonymous dramatic piece, a man tells the story of
his mother, beaten by her father until she loses her mind. The play, a minimalistic
tour de force, features two actors - Stefka Drolc as Ella
and Primoz Ekart as her son - and a single piece of music, La Violetera
(Flower Girl), Silence's adaptation of Charlie Chaplin's
famous City Lights theme.
