Based on one of the best-loved children's stories of all time, Beatrix Potter's
Peter Rabbit, this heart-warming puppet show marks Silence's
third collaboration with director Matjaz Pograjc and the Lutkovno
theatre.
Listen to: In The Garden
The soundtrack features ten songs (sung live by the actors / pupeteers) and
four instrumentals. The rythms are the soundtrack's most distinctive feature.
The band focused on items that could produce interesting, repetitious sounds:
scissors, a ball-point pen, cat food in a metallic container, a squeaking
toy duckling, a zipper, a tea-caddy, a toy drum... To secure the soundtrack's
homogeneity, Silence used only two 'real' instruments to record the
melodics: upright piano and toy xylophone. The result is a quirky collection
of catchy nursery rhymes. The soundtrack was written, produced, recorded and
mixed in Silence's private production facility, the Daily Girl studio,
from August to October 2005.
